Why Is Data Missing in Insights?
If posts or metrics are missing, in most cases it's not a bug but a result of filters, the time period, or platform data. Work through the checks below in order – you'll usually find the cause within a few minutes.
Many "missing data" cases occur because Insights deliberately only shows what makes sense for your current selection: platform, time period, and published content. As soon as one of these doesn't match, it looks as if a post has disappeared or metrics are missing.

That's why a brief systematic check pays off: first check filters and time period, then the connection and platform details. This lets you quickly tell whether it's just a setting or whether something actually needs to be fixed.
1) Check the time period
The time period is the most common "invisible filter". You'll find details here: Selecting a Time Period.
The most common reason: the time period is too narrow.
Check:
- Is the time period set to e.g. the last 7 days even though the post is older?
- As a test, switch to the last 30, 90, or 365 days or to a custom time period.
2) Check the platform filter

If you filter by platform, you only see posts from that network.
Check:
- Is a platform selected in the filter that currently has no data?
- As a test, switch to another platform or reset the filter.
3) Was the post actually published?
If you want to check where a post stands in the workflow, Posting also helps (incl. Posts/Calendar).
Insights refer to published content.
Check:
- Is the post actually published, or is it still scheduled/a draft?
- If the post was deleted, it may no longer appear in Insights or its values may be incomplete.
4) Check the channel connection
When it comes to connecting and reconnecting, Adding Social Media Channels is the right reference.
If an account is no longer cleanly connected, metrics may be missing or may not update.
Check:
- Is the channel/account connected?
- Are there hints that a reconnect is needed?
- Do you have the necessary admin/page permissions on the platform?
5) Time lag: data isn't "live" immediately
Depending on the platform, values update with a delay.
Typical cases:
- shortly after publishing, the first numbers are missing
- some metrics appear later than others
Best practice:
- Reload the page and check again after 15–60 minutes.
6) Platform-specific limitations

Not every platform provides all metrics.
Examples:
- Instagram: audience/demographic information is currently not available.
- YouTube: traffic sources are available, but not every metric applies equally to Shorts and videos.
