What can I see in Insights?
Insights gives you a quick overview of your performance (KPIs, trends, activity, and demographics), and afterwards you can compare individual posts in detail.
If you're completely new to Insights, start with Introduction to KNOWYOURCHAT Insights.
1) Navigation: Overview & Posts
On the left you'll find two areas:
- Overview: dashboard view for KPIs, trends, activity, and demographics
- Posts: table view for comparing individual posts
2) Overview: KPIs & trends
At the top of the Overview you'll see KPI cards (depending on platform/account), typically:
- Total posts (in the selected period)
- Followers / follower growth
- Impressions
- Engagement rate
Each KPI comes with its development over the period (trend/history), so you don't just see the current state, but also the direction.
3) Posting activity: how regularly did you post?
Below the KPIs you'll find an activity analysis, e.g.:
- posting activity in the selected period
- an overview of when posts were published
- values like longest streaks (where available)
This helps you put performance peaks into context (e.g. whether growth is linked to a higher posting frequency).
4) Performance analysis: top posts & metric focus
In the performance analysis you'll see, among other things, a list of your top posts.
You can switch the focus of the analysis (as visible in the tabs), e.g.:
- Impressions
- Engagement
- Likes
- Comments
That way you can rate the same posts once by reach/views and once by interaction.
5) Demographics: where is your community based?
Under Demographics you'll find (depending on the available data) a map view and analyses such as:
- top countries
- top cities
This helps you better understand where your community is based and which regions respond particularly well.
6) Posts (table): compare posts
In the Posts area you'll see a table of your published posts with key metrics (depending on platform), typically:
- title/preview + platform icon
- published on
- views/impressions
- likes
- comments
- shares
- reach
- engagement rate
Above the table you can – as in the screenshot – filter, e.g. by:
- platform
- post type
- media type
7) Time period & accounts (incl. custom)
Whether Overview or Posts: at the top you choose your time period:
- 7, 30, 90, or 365 days
- custom (your own period, e.g. for campaign/launch analyses)
You can also select several accounts to bundle or compare analyses.

8) Post details: what's behind the numbers?
If a post in the top list or in the table catches your interest, click it to open the post details.
Depending on platform and post type, you'll find there, e.g.:
- overview (most important metrics)
- audience/demographics (where available)
- interaction (where available)
- video-specific values (e.g. watch time, audience retention)

✅ Best practice: Use Insights as a routine: once a week a quick look at the Overview → then open 2–3 top posts → carry the learnings over into your next posts.
