Instagram Insights: Available Statistics

In KNOWYOURCHAT, Instagram delivers the most important performance metrics per post. This lets you quickly see which content gets reach and which content actually triggers interaction.

Important: Instagram does not make all insights available via its APIs. That's why you may see less detailed data in KNOWYOURCHAT than in the Instagram app. In return, you get a clear, comparable overview of your posts — without switching platforms.

When you click an Instagram post in Community Insights, you open the detail view.

ℹ️ Note: We currently cannot retrieve audience/demographic info (e.g. gender, age, top countries) for Instagram. That's why there is usually no dedicated "Audience" tab for it in KNOWYOURCHAT.

How to interpret Instagram metrics meaningfully

Views and reach help you understand whether a post is being distributed.
Comments show whether the post sparks discussion.
Shares and especially saves are strong signals for content with practical value.

Especially in 2026, saves are often more relevant than likes, because saved content shows that people will need the post again later.

Best practices

Compare within the same platform and, where possible, within the same format.
Use 30 or 90 days to have enough data for real learnings (time-period logic: Selecting a time period).
If metrics are missing: check the time period and platform filter, and expect a slight delay. (Platform filter: Platform filters in Insights, troubleshooting: Why is data missing in Insights?.)

✅ Recommendation: Each week, open 3 Instagram posts with many saves and 3 with few saves. Compare hook, structure, and practical value — and derive 1 concrete test idea for next week.
