Moving and Rescheduling Posts in the Calendar

Plans change. In the Calendar you can quickly reschedule posts without losing the overview.

Rescheduling is part of everyday work because priorities shift, approvals arrive late, or content needs to be swapped at short notice. The social media calendar is designed so you can make these changes quickly without creating chaos in your team.

Just one thing matters: after moving a post, briefly check whether the time, channel, and status still fit. If a post was already in approval, it may need to be reviewed again depending on your workflow.

Option A: Move in the Calendar (drag & drop)

Tip: If you want to keep an eye on timing and distribution while doing this, a quick look at the Calendar views: month and week is worth it.

  1. Click the post.
  2. Drag it to the new day.
  3. Then check the time and status.

Option B: Change the time in the post editor

If you're editing a post's content anyway, the post editor is usually the cleaner route. (See also How do I create posts in the KNOWYOURCHAT Calendar?.)

  1. Open the post.
  2. Change the date and time in the post editor.
  3. Save.

What happens to statuses and approvals?

Depending on your workflow, rescheduling can have effects, for example:

  • approvals remain in place
  • or a post jumps back into a review status

If you work through many posts by status and want to structure reviews, Posts is the best complement to the Calendar.


Best practices for clean planning logic

  • Don't move things "blindly": check whether that day already has many posts.
  • Watch out for dependencies (e.g. campaigns, series, assets). For clean campaign/series logic, Labels for posts are helpful.
  • If several people are involved: briefly ask for approval.

Remember: Reschedule first, then quickly check: channel, time, status.
