How do I create posts in the KNOWYOURCHAT Calendar?

You can create posts directly from the Calendar. This is ideal when you already know when something should go live.

If you first want to get familiar with the Calendar, start with the Introduction to the KNOWYOURCHAT Calendar.

Creating posts in the Calendar is especially handy when you already know when something should be published. You start directly in the date context, create the post, and then land in the regular post editor, where you finalize the content, channel, and timing. This keeps your planning clean while you still work in the familiar editor.

If you tend to "produce" and work through content independently of the date, Posts is the better place to go next.

Step by step: Create a post in the Calendar

1. Open the Calendar.
2. In the month view, click the plus, or in the week view, click Create post when hovering over the day.
3. The regular post editor opens.
4. Give your post a name.
5. Select the channel or platform(s). (If no channel can be selected, accounts usually aren't connected yet – see Add social media channels.)
6. Upload your media.
7. Let our AI inspire you when writing your copy.
8. Set the date and time.
9. Create the content and save it as: If you want to look up the terms used in the workflow, the KNOWYOURCHAT glossary helps.
   • Draft (if alignment is still pending)
   • Scheduled (if everything is final)

• If needed, request an approval for your draft. (For structure in the review process: Posts → Approval & Review.)

Draft vs. scheduled (quick decision)

• Draft: Content isn't final yet; feedback or approval is missing.
• Scheduled: Content is final, the timing is set, and publishing can go ahead.

Common pitfalls

• Wrong time zone: Check your account time zone in Settings (see also: Edit profile information).
• No channel can be selected: Permissions are missing or the channel isn't connected → Add social media channels.

✅ Rule of thumb: Calendar = set the timing. Post editor = build the content.
