How do I connect a TikTok account to KNOWYOURCHAT?

🎵 Connecting a TikTok account

You can connect TikTok either directly during onboarding or later in the settings under "Social Media Accounts". Once the account is connected, you can post, schedule, and use Insights depending on your permissions.

The fastest way is to quickly make sure beforehand that you are logged into the right TikTok account and have the necessary permissions. After that, the connection itself takes just a few clicks. Finally, a quick check in the dashboard is worth it so you can see right away whether everything was set up cleanly.

General TikTok requirements (on the platform side)

• You have access to the TikTok account and can log in.
• You are sure which TikTok profile you want to connect.
• If TikTok requires a business/verification step for certain features, this should already be completed.

Requirements in KNOWYOURCHAT

• You are logged into the right Workspace.
• You have the appropriate roles/permissions to connect accounts.

Option 1: Connect TikTok during onboarding

During onboarding you automatically land on the "Connect channels" step. There you select TikTok and complete the login once, cleanly.

This is how it usually works:

1. Select TikTok as a channel.
2. Start the connection process.
3. Log in with the correct TikTok account.
4. Confirm the requested permissions.
5. Select the account you want and complete the step.

Option 2: Connect TikTok in the settings

If you want to add TikTok later or connect a different profile, you can do that at any time. The way there is through the settings.

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Social Media Accounts.
3. Click Add account and select TikTok.
4. Log in and confirm the permissions.
5. Select the account and save.

After connecting: a quick check

A quick check saves you time later because you spot potential problems immediately:

• Open Home and check "Connected accounts".
• If needed, create a test draft in Posts.

Common pitfalls

• Used the wrong login (a different TikTok account than intended).
• Permissions not fully confirmed.
• Account is connected, but data is briefly missing (sync/platform latency).

Troubleshooting

If something does not work as expected after connecting, these checks usually help you narrow down the cause quickly:

• Check "Connected accounts" in Home to see whether the account is actually shown as connected.
• Make sure you are working in the right Workspace.
• If the connection is fresh, wait a moment for the first sync and reload the page.
