Limitations on YouTube
YouTube integrates well via its APIs, but some management and moderation features are not (yet) fully available. KNOWYOURCHAT therefore can't replicate every action that's possible in YouTube Studio.
This page summarizes the most important limitations. You'll find the complete overview in API capabilities for YouTube.

The basic principle: why are there limitations?
- KNOWYOURCHAT uses the official YouTube APIs.
- Features depend on the channel type, permissions, and the API requirements.
If something is missing for you, quickly check:
- the channel connection (if reconnecting is needed: Adding social media channels)
- roles/permissions in KNOWYOURCHAT (see Inviting your team & assigning roles)
- key terms (e.g. "workflow", "watch time") in the KNOWYOURCHAT glossary
Limitations in publishing (Posts)
Currently, these limits apply, among others:
If you want to prepare YouTube uploads like a production list and work through them by status, Posts is the right complement.
- Deleting posts/videos: not available.
- What this means: If an upload needs to be removed, it has to happen directly in YouTube/YouTube Studio.
- Disabling comments before publishing: not available.
- What this means: Comment settings may need to be set channel-wide or in YouTube Studio.
- Importing promoted posts in the Calendar (ads/promotions): not available.
- What this means: Paid content runs outside the regular Calendar/posting workflow.
Limitations in statistics (Insights)
In addition to interactions, YouTube often delivers values on playback and traffic sources. Which statistics you see depends on the video/Short and the YouTube APIs.
If you want a general grounding in analysis, start with Insights.
Typical values:
- Views
- Likes, comments
- New subscribers (depending on the post)
- Total play time, watch time
- Traffic sources (e.g. Shorts feed, search)
Limitations that frequently occur:
- Shorts and videos are not 1:1 comparable
- not every metric is available for every content type

- Plan a short step in YouTube Studio when you need deletions or special comment settings.
- If features are missing: check roles and channel permissions.
