How Do I Connect a LinkedIn Account to KNOWYOURCHAT?
Connecting a LinkedIn account
You can link LinkedIn either directly during onboarding or later in the settings under Social Media Accounts. Once the account is connected, you can — depending on permissions and the platform API — post, schedule, and analyze insights.
To make connecting go smoothly, it's worth taking a brief, structured approach: first check the requirements, then connect the account, then verify once that the connection is really active.
If you want the big picture first (onboarding vs. settings), start here: Connecting channels: overview.
Requirements
Before you start, quickly check the following:
For an overview of what is generally supported, see: Supported platforms.
General LinkedIn requirements (on the platform side)
- You have access to the LinkedIn account and can sign in.
- You have the necessary rights for the object you want to connect (e.g. profile or company page — depending on the LinkedIn integration).
- Pop-ups/redirects are allowed in your browser (for the login/consent).
Requirements in KNOWYOURCHAT
- You are logged into the right workspace.
- You have the appropriate roles/permissions to connect accounts.
Option 1: Connect LinkedIn during onboarding
During onboarding you are automatically guided to the step where you link your channels.
This is how it usually works:
- Select LinkedIn as the platform.
- Start the connection process.
- Sign in to the correct LinkedIn account.
- Confirm the requested permissions.
- Select the desired profile or company page (if you're given a choice) and complete the step.
Option 2: Connect LinkedIn in the settings
If you want to add or switch LinkedIn later, you can do so anytime via the settings.
- Open Settings.
- Go to Workspace → Social Media Accounts.
- Click Add account and select LinkedIn.
- Sign in and confirm the permissions.
- Select the account/object and save.
After connecting: a quick check
To make sure everything is set up properly:
- Check in Settings → Workspace → Social Media Accounts whether LinkedIn is shown as connected.
- If you want to post right away, create a test draft.
ℹ️ Note: Some data (e.g. insights) may appear with a delay after a new connection (sync/platform latency).
Common pitfalls
- Used the wrong LinkedIn login (a different account than intended).
- Permissions not fully confirmed.
- Missing rights on the company page (e.g. not an admin/editor — depending on LinkedIn).
- Browser blocks the login window (pop-up blocker).
Troubleshooting
If you can't post or don't see any data after connecting, these checks usually help right away:
- Check whether you're in the right workspace.
- Check in Social Media Accounts whether the connection is active.
- Disconnect and reconnect LinkedIn (if the consent was interrupted).
